It’s a really fun workout, which is key to coming back. (I haven’t used my gym membership yet in 2017 because it’s such a monotonous drag in comparison!)
The SurfSet instructors are super positive and make the class really fun. And who can’t use more fun and positive vibes in their life? It’s also fun to let my mind imagine hot sand and splashing waves instead of focusing on the lactic acid burning my legs and arms.
At the same time, it’s a very healthy workout. I started surfset with tweaky/weak volleyball shoulders and a nagging back injury. My shoulders feel bulletproof and my back injury is the best it’s been in years.
As well, it’s something that Steph and I both enjoy together. And on the all too rare occasions we do get out surfing, we find we’re not as tired and can focus more on learning technique.
