Being active has always been a part of my life. Growing up I enjoyed all kinds of sports as I joined every team except cross country in junior high and favored volleyball. We even won city championships with the team twice!
I shied away from the competitiveness of team sports in high school but continued to stay active with mountain biking, snowboarding, running, yoga, and swimming. After recovering from a life threatening respiratory illness, and also working as a nurse on the trauma unit, it became apparent how important it is to take care of my mind and my body. To recover faster, to do things everyday with ease, and to enjoy each day to the fullest. It is amazing what the human body can do when we take care of it while challenging it to its potential. With the help of my family and friends I was able to do this and am stronger than ever and for that I am forever grateful!
You’ll also find me sweating it up at a spin, yoga, or other fun active escapade with friends and coworkers such as climbing, obstacle races, or dancing the night away to some great hip hop.
