I have been fortunate to be involved in a variety of activities and sports in my lifetime. It began as an athlete in gymnastics and gradually progressed into a coaching role. I knew that I wanted to continue my involvement in sport, but also wanted to travel, so after high school I did just that and travelled to Denmark to attend a Sport and Leadership school. In 2002 I achieved my BKin at U of C, with a major in Athletic Therapy. Through my countless hours as an Athletic Trainer, working with several varsity and club athletes, I gained so much hands on knowledge and experience. In 2007 I completed my Teaching degree and I now teach Phys Ed and Sport Medicine at the High School level. I’ve been able to convey my passion for health, injury prevention and active living to the next generation.
While I was off on my second maternity leave, I decided that I also had a desire to work with adults in a fitness setting, why not I’d worked with every other age group! I achieved my AFLCA Group Fitness Leader certification in June of 2013. It felt very natural for me to transition all of my coaching, teaching, and rehabilitation background into the fitness world. When I heard about SURFSET and Studio Revolution Fitness I felt like the stars had aligned, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it! Combining so much core into so many aspects of fitness, and balancing on a surfboard… who wouldn’t want to do that!!
You can find me chasing my kids, juggling life with my husband, and when I get a little extra time I truly enjoy anything that gets me moving and having fun!
